Port Lincoln is well known for its shark and sea lion adventure companies and we thought the kids might enjoy sea lions snorkelling experience for their birthday, so today, the kids and I set off with local tour company Adventure Bay Charters. It was Azzy and Ollow’s first time snorkelling and my first time using the GoPro.  Best. Fun. Ever.
Wow, what great day we had! After seeing the Australian Sea Lions on the beach at Seal Bay on Kangaroo Island, we were hoping to get a bit closer to these sea lion pups and play with them in their own environment. There are less than 12,000 Australian Sea Lions left so it was pretty special to be allowed to swim with them.
As you can see from our first trip video, we got really close – especially the kids – as the sea lions really seemed to want to play with the kids even more than the adults. One even came up and touched the GoPro with its nose while Asty was filming.  Anyway, check out this video where the sea lions steal the show!

Campsites at Port Lincoln

In terms of campsites there are not many caravan friendly places to stay at Port Lincoln, which is odd given its size.  We stayed at the Port Lincoln Caravan and Cabin Park, about 15mins out of the centre of town and we also checked out McKechnie Springs Farmstay, just north of town but we felt it was a bit overpriced. If we had the camper trailer we would go exploring the nearby Lincoln National Park.
